I was present for one of Jane�s demonstrations At Tewkesbury Mediaeval festival last weekend. I was really impressed by the inclusiveness of the experience and how knowledgeable and skill-full she is. It was a very interesting, informative and entertaining presentation. It was also delicious. I wish I had had time to taste the pottage and watch the preparation of the bread. The amazement on the children�s faces when milk magically turned into beautiful butter was priceless. Don�t miss this experience if you have the opportunity.

Jane's Cake & Bake Kitchen

Jane's Historical Kitchen is proud to introduce Jane's Cake & Bake Kitchen. This is her retail shop.

Jane's Cake & Bake Kitchen is only available at our base or at events Jane's Historical Kitchen is present.

Not only will Jane be stocking items cooked by herself, cakes, biscuits, pies etc, she will be stocking other goods from suppliers of other relevant products. These suppliers currently include The Copper Pot, Nidhoggr Mead Co, and The North Norfolk Vinegar Company.

Jane, the passionate founder and curator, has spent years collecting authentic recipes and carefully crafted reproductions of culinary tools from eras ranging from the medieval hearth to the early 20th century home kitchen.

Within the shop visitors can find multiple items of historically researched food from bread loaves to cakes and chocolate to wine. Jane's enthusiasm helps bridge the gap between past and present; she regularly demonstrates on heritage cooking techniques, such as open-fire baking, herb preservation, and authentic pie crust methods.
